Jim O’Shaughnessy is the Chairman and CEO of O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). Also serving as the Chief Investment Officer of the firm, Jim is ultimately responsible for OSAM’s investment strategies. He directs the Senior Portfolio Manager, Director of Research, and the Portfolio Management Team and helps to set the agenda for the team. He is also responsible for the development of OSAM’s existing strategies and directs the team on idea generation and specific initiatives to improve the models and develop new factors and products. Jim is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Prior to founding OSAM, Jim was the Director of Systematic Equity at Bear Stearns Asset Management and a Senior Managing Director of the firm. Prior to Bear Stearns, he was the CEO and Chairman of O’Shaughnessy Capital Management (Netfolio).

Long recognized as one of America’s leading financial experts and a pioneer in quantitative equity analysis, he has been called a “world beater” and a “statistical guru” by Barron’s. In February 2009, Forbes.com included Jim in a series on “Legendary Investors” along with Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, and Peter Lynch.

Jim is the author of four books on investing. Forbes pronounced his first book Invest Like the Best “awesome” and named it one of the best financial books of the year. His next book, What Works on Wall Street, is a BusinessWeek and New York Times Business bestseller and called “An indisputable classic...downright momentous” by TheStreet.com. Financial Analysts’ Journal said it was “indisputably a major contribution to empirical research on the behavior of common stocks in the United States...conceivably, the influence of What Works on Wall Street will prove immense.”

Jim’s third book, How to Retire Rich, was a New York Times Business and BusinessWeek bestseller. Jim’s most recent book, Predicting the Markets of Tomorrow, was published in 2006. Jim was named “manager of the year” in Gordon Pape’s 2004 Buyers Guide to Mutual Funds for his management of the Royal Bank (RBC) of Canada’s O’Shaughnessy Funds, and the Canadian Investment Awards named the RBC O’Shaughnessy U.S. Value Fund “U.S. Equity Fund of the Year” in 2004 and 2005. Jim has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Jim serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and as a board member of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Jim is married with three children and two grandchildren and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Chris Loveless serves as the President of OSAM. In this role, Chris is responsible for driving the firm’s initiatives, as well as overseeing the Technology, Performance, Operations, and Administrative teams. He also serves as the Director of Sales, and leads the institutional sales and service efforts, including managing the relationship with our largest client, the Royal Bank of Canada. Chris is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Operating Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Chris was a Managing Director/Principal at Bear Stearns Asset Management (BSAM) where he was responsible for the Third-party Platform business. Chris joined BSAM along with Jim O’Shaughnessy in 2001. Prior to joining BSAM, Chris was a Vice President with O'Shaughnessy Capital Management, which is where he initially joined Jim’s core management team in 1997. He joined Merrill Lynch as a member of the JET program in 1994. Chris holds a B.A. in Advertising from Texas Tech University. He is a Past President of the Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board and a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife and four daughters.

Principal, Chief Compliance Officer

Ray Amoroso is the Chief Compliance Officer at OSAM. Prior to joining the firm, Ray worked at Stark & Stark, P.C. a law firm focusing on providing legal and compliance services to Registered Investment Advisors. Ray specializes in the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, disclosure statements, marketing materials, ADV Forms and U-4s. He also has extensive experience in developing and negotiating business contracts, forming policies and procedures manuals, performing mock SEC audits and addressing ongoing compliance issues. Before joining Stark & Stark, P.C., Ray was a tax consultant for Bisys-DML Global Services LLP where his responsibilities included tax advisory services and compliance. From 1999 to 2001 Ray was with Deloitte & Touche, LLP where his role included tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, limited liability corporations, individuals and trusts. He is a member of the New York, New Jersey, and United States Supreme Court Bars, certified as an Authorized House Counsel by the Connecticut Bar, and was named as one of “The 20 Rising Stars of Compliance” in Institutional Investor News magazine. He is also a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and has passed the Series 7 & 63 Registered Representative, and 26 Registered Principal Securities Licensing Examinations, as well as the Canadian Securities Institute NEC(CSC/CPH) & PDO Exams. Ray holds a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. He lives in Jackson, New Jersey with his wife and twin son and daughter.

Scott Bartone

Scott Bartone is the Director of Portfolio Management & Operations and a Portfolio Manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). His responsibilities include investment strategy research, factor research, and portfolio construction. Scott is responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management activities of the firm and manages a team of traders and trade support staff focused on delivering the firm’s strategies to clients. He is also responsible for managing operational relationships with outside vendors that the firm uses. Scott is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee and Executive Committee. Prior to joining OSAM, Scott worked at Bear Stearns and Co. in New York, where he was responsible for providing operational and trade support for broker staff and third-party money managers utilized by Bear Stearns’ Private Client Service team. Scott has a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany and an M.B.A from Cornell University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Joe Dessalines

Joe Dessalines is the Director of Technology at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). Joe plays a key role in decision making capacities related to the technology vision and information technology (IT) management of the organization. He is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the extended IT infrastructure while working closely with all departments to improve decision-making, automate manual processes, and develop robust risk controls. Additionally, Joe is responsible for software development, programming, and implementation. Joe is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Prior to joining OSAM, Joe worked as a Vice President of Software Development and as a Project Manager at City Spec Inc., where he developed enterprise application software along with data warehouse and network design. Before that, Joe was an Information Specialist Coordinator for the Information Technology Service (ITS) at Brooklyn College, where he specialized in conducting and coordinating technology classes and workshops. Joe attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and holds a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from Brooklyn College.

Erin Foley

Principal, Director of Trading

Erin Foley is the Director of Trading at OSAM. Erin is also responsible for the execution of our non-directed trades which are generally related to our institutional, mutual funds and other comingled fund accounts using brokers, algorithms, and direct access. On a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, she reviews all trades for best execution analysis. Erin is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Prior to joining OSAM, Erin was Vice President and Institutional Sales Trader at Canaccord Adams where she performed trade activity in Listed, OTC and International markets with a focus on small cap equities. While at Canaccord Adams, Erin was a part of the team responsible for opening the firm's first regional sales and trading office. Prior to joining Canaccord Adams, Erin spent four years as a Vice President and Institutional Sales Trader for Deutsche Bank Securities, where she executed trades, enhanced cross-selling opportunities through the use of derivatives and provided access to syndicate deals. Prior to that, Erin was an Operations Manager/Junior Sales Trader for Morgan Stanley where she began her career in 1995. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.

Chris Meredith

Chris Meredith is the Director of Research and a Senior Portfolio Manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). He is responsible for managing investment related activities at the firm: investment strategy research, portfolio management, and the firm’s trading efforts. He directs the Director of Portfolio Management and the Director of Trading on managing daily investment decisions. On the research side, Chris leads a team of analysts conducting research on new factors, improving existing stock selection and portfolio construction techniques. Chris has also authored several whitepapers including Price-to-Book’s Growing Blind Spot and Microcap as an Alternative to Private Equity. He is also the author of the “Investing Research” blog. Chris is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Operating Committee. Chris is also a Visiting Lecturer of Finance at the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University, where he co-teaches Applied Portfolio Management and co-manages the student-run Cayuga Fund. Prior to joining OSAM, Chris was a Senior Research Analyst on the Systematic Equity team at BSAM. He was a Director at Oracle Corporation and spent eight years as a technology professional before attending the Johnson School at Cornell University. Chris holds a B.A. in English from Colgate University, an M.B.A. from Cornell University, and an M.A. of Financial Mathematics from Columbia University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He lives in Chappaqua, New York with his wife and three children.

Patrick O’Shaughnessy is a Principal and Portfolio Manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). Patrick is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Patrick is the author of Millennial Money: How Young Investors can Build a Fortune, published by Palgrave Macmillian. He is also a contributing author to the Fourth Edition of What Works on Wall Street and the author of several white papers such as Alpha or Assets? — Factor Alpha vs. Smart Beta, the subject of which was a keynote presentation at the 2016 Morningstar annual ETF conference. Patrick’s podcast “Invest Like the Best” recently passed 300,000 listeners and was named among “5 Investment Podcasts You Should Listen To” by The Wall Street Journal. He is also the author of “The Investor’s Field Guide” blog. Patrick’s responsibilities at OSAM include investment strategy research and product development. He is also responsible for generating new research to enhance investment strategies through stock selection, portfolio construction, or asset allocation. Patrick is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Patrick holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. He lives with his wife and two children in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Ari Rosenbaum

Ari Rosenbaum serves as the Director of Financial Advisor Services at OSAM. He began working with Jim O’Shaughnessy in 1997, and leads the team that delivers OSAM strategies to advisors, consultants, wealth management firms, multi-family offices and private banks. Over his career, he has worked with hundreds of wealth advisory firms coast to coast. Ari is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Operating Committee. Prior to joining OSAM, Ari was in charge of national sales for financial advisors at Bear Stearns Asset Management. Ari graduated from Penn State University in 1991 with a B.A. in English. He lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and two children.

Claudia Shi is the Director of Finance at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM) and is responsible for the firm’s performance reporting function as well. Claudia is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Prior to joining OSAM, Claudia was a Senior Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a Senior Consultant at Philips Electronics. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Connecticut.

Claudine Spence is the Director of Client Service at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). Claudine leads the client service efforts for the Intermediary and Institutional channels. Prior to this role, she served as a Senior Business Analyst and was responsible for recruiting at OSAM. Claudine is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Before joining the firm, Claudine was a Vice President at Bear Stearns Asset Management where she was a Business Analyst for the Platform Sales team. She is a member of OSAM’s Operating Committee. Previously, Claudine was an Assistant Vice President of Institutional Marketing at Clearbridge Advisors (formerly Citigroup Asset Management), where her responsibilities included strategic planning and the development of content for RFPs and marketing materials. She previously held positions at the Bank of Ireland Asset Management, AllianceBernstein and Diversified Investment Advisors. Claudine holds B.S. in Finance and Economics from Marymount College of Fordham University.

Ehren Stanhope

Ehren Stanhope is a Principal and Client Portfolio Manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). Ehren has deep expertise in OSAM’s investment philosophy, portfolio construction, and implementation, which enables him to represent the investment process to key clients throughout the United States. He is responsible for positioning the firm’s investment capabilities within the context of client needs and the current market environment. Ehren is an equity owner in OSAM and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. He is also the author of the “Factor Investor” blog and is a Yahoo! Finance Contributor. Prior to joining OSAM, Ehren worked at Western Asset Management Co (WAMCO), where he was a member of the Analytics team in the Client Service/Marketing group. In that role, he specialized in relationships with insurance clients handling inquiries related to portfolio performance, structure, and strategy. Prior to his role at WAMCO, Ehren served as an Account Executive at Indymac Bank in the Mortgage Banking Division and a Regional Director for Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Ehren holds a B.S. in Management from Tulane University with concentrations in Finance and Legal Studies. He is currently pursuing an Executive M.B.A. at the Yale School of Management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
